I’ve called Beaches-East York home for over 15 years. Since I ran in 2022, I’ve continued to stand up for our community when we’ve been faced with challenges and against growing inequalities.

I’ve been a champion for safer streets, fought for tenants’ rights and more affordable housing, and advocated for investing in our social services and public programs.

I’m a proud resident of Ward 19 and I believe in vibrant neighbourhoods, safe communities, better public transit, protecting our public spaces and parks, and making sure we can all thrive here.

I’m an experienced non-profit management professional with a solid understanding of how our municipal government works and who it's supposed to work for.

You deserve a representative at City Hall who listens, who is responsive, and who deeply cares for our community.

Let’s build the city we want, together!

Canvass with Team Jennie!

9x,
2 Locations
This campaign is about talking to thousands of residents across the ward about how we make this city work better for the many and not the few. And to do this, we need you. Join an upcoming canvass (or two!) and learn how to have positive conversations with Beaches-East Yorkers about accessible local representation, connected communities, beautiful public spaces and more!  No prior experience is required. All canvasses start with a training and you will be paired up with a partner if you are new to this. We can't wait to see you!

This is a space for volunteers, those curious about Jennie's campaign, and supporters to come together and get to know each other better. This is not a canvass and there will be zero door-knocking. Grab a snack from the farmers market and come join us on the big pink picnic blanket as we build community and enjoy the vibes of East Lynn Park.

Prioritizing our Growing Communities

Beaches-East York is a great place to live, and it can be even better.

Accessible, responsive representation at City Hall and in Beaches-East York.

  • A rotating office hours schedule with pop-up office locations throughout the ward to meet residents where they are.

  • Service standards for constituent emails and phone calls.

  • Jennie will be here. Committed to the community and to her role as city councillor, you won’t have to call the mayor’s office or chase her for a response.

  • Jennie’s office will have caseworkers to support residents navigating the bureaucracy of public programs. Whether it's signing your kids up for swimming lessons or applying for property tax relief, we’re here to help!

Connected, safe, and affordable communities for all.

  • Championing the streetcar revitalization plan to speed up our ward’s streetcar lines, the 506 Carlton, 501 Queen, and 503 Kingston.

  • Working to expand city programming for residents at all ages and stages for example: swimming lessons, summer camps, library programming, seniors programming, and adaptive programs for children with disabilities

  • Tenant protections – addressing slumlords and ensuring safe, well maintained homes; protecting tenants from renoviction.

  • Supporting a more robust approach to building public housing in Toronto through the Toronto builds policy framework and non-profit and cooperative housing providers.

Public space for the public good.

  • A councillor that is invested in coordinating regular maintenance and state of good repair work throughout the ward, finding opportunities to streamline construction work so roads, sidewalks, and transit are minimally disrupted, where possible.

  • Building off of the Parks & Recreation facilities masterplan to coordinate improvements in Ward 19 that benefit individuals and families of all ages.

  • Finding opportunities for more meaningful community engagement and involvement in development decisions made in our ward.

  • Ensuring our beautiful beaches and ravines remain clean, safe, and accessible to all who live here.
