How we use your donation
Beaches-East York is home to just over 100,000 people. To reach them we need money to print flyers, buy clipboards, and host events. It takes a surprising amount of money to run a campaign but every contribution, no matter how small, helps get us closer to our goal: Electing Jennie Worden as our next city councillor.
Every donation will help us knock on another door, attend another community event, print another lawn sign or poster, and onboard another volunteer.
Jennie’s campaign is 100% people funded. We have pledged to accept no donations from developers or lobbyists. We believe that people power is the only power we need to succeed, and to make things even better, donations over $25 are also eligible for a City of Toronto refund after the election, that’s up to 75% of your donation back in your pocket!
Let’s build the city we want, together.
How the City's Rebate Program Works
Toronto's Contribution Rebate Program lets donors get a portion of their campaign contribution back, and the rebates are generous. For example:
-
Donate $50 → get $37.50 back
-
Donate $100 → get $75 back
-
Donate $300 → get $225 back
-
Donate $500 → get $325 back
-
Donate $1000 → get $575 back
That means a $100 donation effectively costs you just $25. A $300 donation? Only $75 out of pocket.
Who's eligible? Any individual who normally resides in Ontario can contribute and claim a rebate.
How to claim your rebate: It's simple. When you donate, Jennie's campaign will provide you with a Contribution Rebate Receipt and Application Form. You complete and submit it — online or by mail — and the City of Toronto sends you a cheque.
The maximum donation limit to a single candidate is $1200 (for a rebate of $641.67).
