Join Jennie Worden, candidate for City Council in Ward 19, and filmmaker Miru Yogarajah, for a screening of Yogarajah’s 2026 documentary Landlines and Butter Chicken to Go directed by Prajj, followed by a panel discussion on how we create a more worker-friendly city.
Landlines, by Miru Yogarajah and Jay Aramboo follows migrant truck drivers living in the Greater Toronto Area as they navigate the unjust realities of the trucking industry — wage theft, inadequate training and unsafe conditions, exploitative pay, grueling hours, and constant surveillance inside their trucks.
Butter Chicken to Go is a short documentary following three South Asian delivery drivers as they navigate the city during a particularly snowy winter dinner rush in Toronto, while reflecting on the journeys that brought them there.
The event will be followed by a canvass for the campaign.
